As with all Schreiner pieces, this set is over and above the norm. The orange pendant center with drop beads is poured glass with a floral motif. The other beads are twisted with a light creamy yellow swirl within the glass. With the dangles that hang from a curled wire design, it measures 4 inches, and the pendant can also be used as a brooch. The chain, which also has some of the twisted glass beads, is 18 inches with an addition center bead at the hook. The clip earrings are 2.75 inches long and are signed Schreiner. This set is so scarce, there was recently on eBay a necklace without the earrings and only three dangles on the pendant offered for $450.
Condition: Over-all in very good condition. There are a couple of minor flaws that are not too noticeable that I want to point out. One of the cream beads that dangles from the pendant is shorter than the others and looks like it was a manufacture flaw. It has a smooth end and does not appear to have broken off. Another of the cream beads on one earring is split in half and also looks smooth as if it has been that way for some time. At one end of the curled wire on the back side there are a few tiny spots where the finish is worn away. It is barely noticeable, and you cannot see it from the front side at all. The last thing I want to mention is that there is a metal pin through the bottom of the orange glass on the pendant. I wondered what it could have been, and see from the necklace listed on eBay that it might have been where the signature tab had been attached. The only thing that is marked on this set is the earrings now. I believe that covers everything. Though insignificant, I wanted to be sure I mentioned everything. |
