Circa: 1940s Condition: Fair Size: 26" Type: Necklace
I've hung on to this necklace for years because I think it’s so cool, and all this time have thought it was made of wood. Now that I see it through the eyes of a camera I find that it is Lucite that has been painted by the manufacturer. It measures 26 inches and has a push clasp back that is also painted. The beads alternate in a bright clear navy and cream colored squared dice. There was a lot of work that went into this, as the brass floret spacers are alternated as well, with what was once (most is chipped off) painted blue against the cream beads, and cream against the blue beads (most of this is still present). I rate this as fair because of the paint lose on these, and a small degree on some of the beads; but the overall condition to the naked eye is pretty good. I've never come across another piece like this before. Super fun for year round wear. Estimated book value $175. |
