For some unknown reason my husband brought this home to me years ago when I started this jewelry business. I think he has learned a lot since then. He can at least tell the difference between a button and a pin!

The only thing I know about buttons is from my childhood. My mom had a large tin filled with interesting old pieces. That kept me entertained for hours. Moving during a blizzard in Michigan the thing fell off the back of a truck and as much as I cried to pick them up, my dad didn't think it was a good idea in four foot of snow with no sign of letup in sight. Maybe that's why I hung on to this box for so long.

I haven't counted these, or investigated them, other than stirring them a bit to take photos. There are some Bakelite, leather, crocheted, mother-of-pearl, glass, abalone, and metal to name a few. The tin has seen better days, but would no doubt look much better cleaned up. There is no rust on the lip of the lid, which opens easily. The box measures 6" by 3-3/4" by 3-1/2 inches tall. This will be shipped in a Flat Rate Priority Box.
