Wow, is this terrific. I almost made the mistake of listing this as early plastic. While doing my usual once over with my loupe, I found this pin to be made of various materials. The large yellow flower petals are poured glass. A top that is a plastic filament which is topped with a facet stone quarts stigma. The stepals are made of carnelian with more carved quarts beads daggling from them. I am not sure what the small rose is made from, as the resin leaf back covers almost the entire back and prohibits closer investigation. Sorry about the botany class, but with so many materials it was impossible to get away from it. There is no question that this is a one of a kind hand made beauty.
All my jewelry is vintage or antique previously worn jewelry for the most part. For this reason I try to include close-up photos for your examination, but please feel free to ask questions before you make your purchase. |
