One of the best things about my job is that I am continually awed by new finds. Since it is not marked I feel it is American made with Czech or Italian glass. This is one of the most unique rhinestone pieces I've had; but there are similarly made pieces I've seen in reference guides that are attributed to Eisenberg. The center is a huge 1-5/8" faceted piece of art glass. It's clear with an emerald splash in the center. Elaborate prongs hold it to a ring of flashy rhinestones. The piece is in excellent condition other than some yellowed glue under the rim at the prongs (which appears to be added some time after manufacturing). This can be easily cleaned by lifting the prongs and brushing it out with a tooth brush. I brushed at the edges a little and it seems to come right off. This brooch is a keeper, and I find it hard to believe it isn't still part of a family inheritance. Their loss, your gain!
All my jewelry is vintage or antique previously worn jewelry for the most part. For this reason I try to include close-up photos for your examination, but please feel free to ask questions before you make your purchase. |
