Circa: 1930-50's Condition: Very Good Size: 1-5/16" x 1-2/16" Type: Pin Manufacturer: Unknown
I've seen more and more of the vintage silver and enamel jewelry work come out of China, but I have here another unique find. This pin has two layers, with a honeycomb filigree backing, and an elaborate notch scroll work front. It is not marked, but looks like a gold wash over sterling with some finish wear visible with a loupe. In the center is a carved bone Chinaman that is prong set. I'm guessing at the age, putting it between the 1930s-1950s. It looks like it may have been painted in some areas, such as the eyes and belt, that have long since faded. This is a terrific piece of Asian artwork. Measures 1-5/16" by 1-2/16 inch. Estimated value $75.
