Rare and heavy, this piece of Mexican jewelry is pre-50's, before the government required any markings of silver content or location. These old pieces, the majority from Mexico City, are marked only Silver Made in Mexico, or as this one, Mexico. Most of these were of high quality, as can be seen in this Aztec design with a total weight of 1.9 ounces. The length of the bracelet is 7-1/4 inch. There is some damage to three of the six circular knobs in the design as seen in the close up photo. They do, however, give the impression of being part of the design and add interest to the it. I have not cleaned this piece, is as my normal practice, since some prefer the old patina. Book value $250.
All my jewelry is vintage or antique previously worn jewelry for the most part. For this reason I try to include close-up photos for your examination, but please feel free to ask questions before you make your purchase. |
