185-1

Filigree and Coral Glass Art Deco Necklace Ornate and feminine filigree surrounds the coral flex glass stone which catches the eye from the flashy emerald green rhinestones on either side. The pendant is 1-1/2" and made of brass. May be an unsigned piece from W. Germany, as they did a lot with filigree during this time period. The unusual swirl etched chain, which I don't believe is original to the pendant, is 16 inches and looks to be sterling vermeil (it is not marked).
Circa: 1930

601-13

Black and Red Art Deco Czech Glass Necklace This fantastic Art Deco necklace is without a doubt Czechoslovakian although it is not marked. It's made with the typical brass findings and filigree work, as well as the popular red and black glass colors used in many pieces.

This is a most unusual piece as I have discovered. I couldn't figure out the metallic back of the center stone, as I knew it wasn't foiled, prompting me to use my loupe to see it closer. Not only is it a large piece of enamel, I have never seen enameling so thick or used like this on a piece of Art Deco jewelry. It is definitely original to the necklace. The beads range in size and shape and are strung on inch long brass wiring.

In my experience reference books are way out of date on the actual value of this type of necklace, since they always sell for more than books give them credit for. That being the case, I am not including a retail value in the listing.

462-1

Rare Retro Sterling and Enamel Floral Set This full suite came from an estate where the women remembered her mother owning it since she was a young child. All three pieces are marked Sterling at least once. It appears to have a gold wash that shows some variance typical of aging, although it does not look spotted as some of this type become. Both the bracelet and choker have a wonderful swirl scrolling that was used a lot in the late Art Deco Retro pieces. The screw back earrings are flat buttons, so there is no scrolling to get caught in your hair. Each piece is peppered with enameled yellow flowers, something not seen often. In fact, I can say in all my years of antiquing I have never seen another remotely like this set. That has made it difficult to put a retail price on it. What I finally did was compare the set to other sterling and enamels from later periods and came up with an estimated value of $895.

The choker is 15", bracelet is 6-3/4" and earrings are just over half an inch. If you are looking for something special, you need not go any further.
