732-2

14KT White Filigree Gold Ring with Onyx and Diamond This is the nicest onyx and diamond ring I've seen from this period. The manufacturer is J.J. White of Providence, RI who was in business from 1896 to at least 1978. The ring is marked W inside a triangle, as well as 14K.

Now for the delightful details; the onyx sets high up on 3/16 inch of beaded filigree with a ribbon bow on each side that is also part of the prongs which hold the onyx. There is lovely etching down each side of the band which is a size 5.5. The Marquise cut onyx has an Art Deco design carving into it with a sweet bezel set diamond. You’ll have to look a long time to come up with another gold ring as nice as this one.

All my jewelry is vintage or antique previously worn jewelry for the most part. For this reason I try to include close-up photos for your examination, but please feel free to ask questions before you make your purchase.

354-63

Pink Blush Pearl Necklace with Amethyst Drop This is one of the pieces I bought a few years back from a wealthy estate out of Asheville, NC. It's one of my favorites, which is why it hasn't made it to the listed inventory until now. The necklace measures 16" and the drop, which includes hand set pronged amethyst rhinestones, is one inch. The C closure is marked twice, 1/20th 14KT GF. The oblong pearls have a pink caste, and the squatty pearls are white. Estimated value $250.

861-1

Filigree Silver Brooch with Dragon Breath and Marcasite The Boma Company started business in 1981. Their design has evolved into a sleek modern classic style, and they no longer manufacture pins or brooches. This brooch is one of the early designs taken from the Victorian era. It was hard to photograph to show its true beauty. The flared set Marcasites on each corner have a lot of shine in person. Also the foiled back dragon breath stone has a navy back drop, not black as the photos show. It's really a gorgeous piece. There is one flaw that I tried to capture in the photos; a small chip from the side of the domed glass top. It is hard to notice (by the large spot of burnt orange), even when looking for it, and is not sharp. Estimated book value $125.

462-1

Rare Retro Sterling and Enamel Floral Set This full suite came from an estate where the women remembered her mother owning it since she was a young child. All three pieces are marked Sterling at least once. It appears to have a gold wash that shows some variance typical of aging, although it does not look spotted as some of this type become. Both the bracelet and choker have a wonderful swirl scrolling that was used a lot in the late Art Deco Retro pieces. The screw back earrings are flat buttons, so there is no scrolling to get caught in your hair. Each piece is peppered with enameled yellow flowers, something not seen often. In fact, I can say in all my years of antiquing I have never seen another remotely like this set. That has made it difficult to put a retail price on it. What I finally did was compare the set to other sterling and enamels from later periods and came up with an estimated value of $895.

The choker is 15", bracelet is 6-3/4" and earrings are just over half an inch. If you are looking for something special, you need not go any further.

778-13

Art Nouveau 10KT Pinwheel Pin with Opal and Seed Pearls This sweet Victorian pinwheel pin has all the charm that comes with an art nouveau design, and then some. The center prongs hold a precious opal from the Australian opal fields discovered in 1870. Around it and nestled in typical motif of the era are tiny seed pearls. The back pin has a ball hinge and a C type clasp, as well as a chain ring. Unmarked tested 10KT gold. Book value $285.
